St. Gertrude Knitting Ministry:

We gather monthly to pray and knit for the needs of those who will receive our handiwork.  We knit 9” by 7” “squares” which we then fashion into prayer blankets and shawls for those in need of comfort due to illness, loss of a loved one, or support through one of life’s events.  We also invite those who cannot attend our monthly gathering to knit and pray at home.  Squares knitted at home are always welcome!

Experience is not required. We are happy to teach and encourage beginners.

  • Meetings: The second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the rectory parlor

Makko ho (Japanese yoga):

Makko ho means looking straight forward-physically, mentally and spiritually. In addition to the four seated poses of Makko ho, we practice abdominal breathing and work to improve our posture. All ages and abilities are welcome. $15 per class or 5 sessions for $65.

  • Meetings: Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. in the Ministry Center

Marriage Encounter:

Marriage Encounter encourages married couples to enhance their communication. With the support of a continuing group, couples deepen their commitment to a strong and healthy marriage while reinforcing traditional family values.

  • Meetings: The second Saturday of each month, rotating location among the homes of the group members.

Parish Play-“St. Gertrude Presents”:

“St. Gertrude Presents” produces plays. In the production of a play, participants share the experience of working with and appreciating individuals of different temperaments, different occupations, and different talents. In this way we come to actualize Jesus’ teaching that we are many parts, but one body.

  • Meetings: Rehearsals begin six weeks before a production.

The Women’s Friendship Club:

Parishioners age 50 and older meet for friendship, growth, and enjoyment. Activities include speakers, many opportunities for socialization, and parish or community service. Members develop a sense of belonging and self-worth while meeting new friends and enjoying the life God has given us.
