This weekend, we celebrate Pentecost, the day when the Holy Spirit filled the disciples with fire and vigor to preach the good news. But even the early Church needed funds to sustain itself and grow. “All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one’s needs (Acts 2:44-45).”
Our latest financial projections show that we will have a deficit this year of approximately $58,000. We experienced unexpected heating repair costs and higher heating bills.
We hope that you found a Balance the Budget/Double Your Donation envelope stuffed into your bulletin this past weekend or that you picked one up at Mass. We are asking that every parish family make two donations to the Balance the Budget/Double Your Donation campaign in addition to your regular contributions. Each donation would be the same amount as your regular contribution. There will be a second collection this weekend to support the campaign. You may also donate online to the Balance the Budget/Double Your Donations campaign through the parish website via GiveCentral, or WeShare, or send your donations to the parish office.
Please prayerfully consider what you are able to contribute.
Thank you for your continuing financial support and prayers.
Together, we are St. Gertrude!
