Baptism for Children

Baptisms are celebrated three times each month—after the 10:30 am Sunday Mass (at about 11:45 am) on the second and fourth Sundays of the month (except during Lent). Additionally, baptisms will be at one of the weekend Masses, rotating from month to month - so one month we will celebrate baptisms at the Saturday 5:00 pm Mass, then the next month at the Sunday 8:00 am Mass, etc. 

This allows families more options, and also makes it possible for the parish congregation to participate in this important sacrament a few times over the course of the year.

All those wishing to have their child(ren) baptized should contact the Rectory office at 773.764.3621 to schedule the baptism. Parents are asked fill out the Baptismal Intake Form below and email it to stgertrude1420@stgertrudechicago.org or call the Rectory office and provide the necessary information for the baptismal certificates. 

A mandatory Zoom parent preparation meeting is held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Rectory for new parents or parents who have never attended a class or perspective godparents. In the case where the first Monday falls on a holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled to the following Monday.
